The 2026 World Cup was the first with 48 teams, played across the USA, Mexico and Canada from 11 June to 19 July 2026, with the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The tournament is complete; this page is the archive we kept while it was on.
48 teams in 12 groups of four, each playing three group matches. The top two in each group and the eight best third-placed sides went through, making 32 teams in the knockout round. 16 venues were used — 11 in the USA, three in Mexico and two in Canada — with the opening matches at the Estadio Azteca, BMO Field and SoFi Stadium.
The draw was made on 5 December 2025 and all 48 qualifiers were settled by June 2026. The page lists every group, among them Group C (Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti), Group H (Spain, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde), Group J (Argentina, Austria, Algeria, Jordan) and Group L (England, Croatia, Panama, Ghana).
